FAQ

Q1 – Are we safe?  What if there is a warning not to travel?
          Yes -  if the State Department has any adverse warning against travelling to India we will gladly refund the tour amount. Please make sure to check the State department website as it always lists some areas in India which are unsafe - (remote border areas, Kashmir and North East India). If the warning is against travelling to India as whole then we will make sure 100% money is refunded.

Q2 – Do we need special shots or vaccinations?
          There is no shot or vaccination which is mandatory so we suggest everybody  consult their Physician for travel to India and what they might need. Most people do take malaria pills and Hepatitis vaccination.

Q3 – Can someone upgrade to Business Class on the flight?
          The upgrade to Business Class would be an additional $4600/person.

Q4 – Do we need a visa to travel to India?
          You need a tourist visa from the Indian Consulate.  There are 5 Indian consulates in the USA – New York, Houston, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington. They all issue visas for their jurisdiction only. For example,  people in California, Oregon and Washington State have to apply to the San Francisco consulate. The visa is applied for online and you have to then send some supporting documents and your passport to TRAVISA who handles all visa processing on behalf of the Indian Consulates.

You will need two identical photos to attach to the document.  These can be obtained from a local Drugstore.  (CVS, Vons, Rite Aid, etc.)

Q5 – Can we pay our travel to Indus Travels with a credit card?  What about credit cards in India?
          Yes people can pay with credit cards but with a 4% surcharge. We accept Visa/Master/American Express. (We do not encourage paying by credit cards – checks are easier) All hotels and most restaurants/shops will accept Visa/Master/American Express in India.

Q6 – When do we need to pay for travel?
We would need the final payments 60 days prior to final departure.  About 2 weeks before departure we will send out detail packages which will have all the travel documentation etc.
