Registered Students at Massasoit – Summer 2013

Summer Classes Start May 28th, 2013. Enrollment for Summer courses is still open.

To Register for Summer Classes at Massasoit

New Student Requirements for Participation:
1. Employment in one of the participating healthcare facilities.
2. Completion of Careers in Health Application obtained at the HR Department of your employer. *Application MUST be signed by HR Department.
3. Completion of Accuplacer Test in Reading, Writing, and Math at Massasoit Community College if applicable.
4. Submit copies of post-secondary transcripts if applicable.
5. Attend (2) Careers in Health Orientation Sessions, Road to Success.
6. Meet with Careers in Health Education Counselor to develop Individualized Career Mapping Plan.

Students Presently Enrolled
1. Complete Course with a C or better.
2. Meet with Careers in Health Education Counselor to review career mapping plan.
3. Submit Student Progress Report for each course taken – must be filled out by instructor.
4. Enrollment in course at Massasoit Community College agreed upon with the Education Counselor and submission of Course Authorization Form.

Careers in Healthcare Beyond Nursing Seminar

Postpone until Fall 2013 (Dates TBA)
Each month learn: job descriptions, job opportunities, and career outlook
These workshops are free and open to all. Please contact the Beverly at the Chamber office to register. Topics Include:

 – Medical Assistant

 – Are you ready to go to school? Do you have the time? Are you organized? Do you have the study strategies? Answer these questions and learn the skills to become a successful student.

– Dental Assistant/Dental Hygenist

– Surgical Tech

 – Respiratory Therapist

Careers in Health Gateway to Online RN-BS in Nursing

The Careers in Health Gateway program is designed to facilitate matriculation into the Online RN-BS degree in Nursing program offered at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Who Is Eligible:

  • Anyone who possesses a valid MA Registered Nurse license
  • Designed for the candidate with an Associate in Nursing degree. (Nursing school graduates can still qualify, but they may need to complete outstanding pre-requisites.)
  • Must have overall GPA of 2.75 or better
  • Must attend Orientation for the Program
